Fine Nippon porcelain (later Noritake) from this time period were exported by the Morimura Brothers, who specialized in fine Noritake and Nippon porcelain tailored for Western markets, opening a store in New York City in 1876. They hired skilled local artists in Japan to hand-paint delicate designs tailored precisely to American tastes, specializing in romantic pastel floral patterns, intricate gold gilding, and raised "moriage" enamel beadwork. The Japanese cherry blossom, or sakura, symbolize the fleeting, ephemeral nature of life, mortality, and renewal.

• Cottagecore kitchens
• Victorian tea party decor
• Shabby chic styling
• Grandmillennial collections
• Antique porcelain displays
