A beautifully simple vintage bow brooch with a timeless, elegant feel.
This gold-tone ribbon pin features soft, sculptural curves that mimic the flow of a tied bow—minimal, refined, and endlessly wearable. The little bead accents on the knot are subtle, but they’re doing design work, giving texture, breaking up the smooth metal, and adding a jewelry maker's touch.
It’s the kind of piece that quietly elevates an outfit, whether pinned to a blazer, sweater, or scarf. This sleek, abstract look is very characteristic of mid-century modern jewelry, especially 1955–1970. It has a very “Mad Men cocktail suit” aesthetic.
Details:
• Vintage gold-tone bow brooch
• Late 1950s to early 1970s, mostly likely 1960s
• Smooth, sculptural ribbon design
• Secure pin back closure
• Approx. 2–2.5 inches wide (see photo with measuring tape)
• Lightweight and easy to wear
Condition:
Good vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age. Finish remains bright with minor signs of use visible in close-up photos.
The gold-tone finish quality has thicker plating, smoother casting and cleaner finishing than cheap 1980s mall jewelry. Even though it’s costume jewelry, it feels like a better-made piece.
While most vintage bows are rhinestone heavy, this one is intentionally minimalist, architectural, restrained, and modernist, fitting both the quiet luxury
and mid-century modern aesthetics.
Brooches like these were sold at departments stores like Macy’s, Sears, Hudson’s, as well as boutique dress shops.
Styling Ideas:
• Pin to a blazer lapel for a polished look
• Add to a sweater or cardigan for subtle detail
• Style on a scarf or coat for a timeless accent
