A lovely vintage Rococo style cream soup bowl in Royal Doulton's discontinued Hampshire pattern, D6141.

Produced between 1940 and 1961, Hampshire is one of Royal Doulton's most richly decorated transferware patterns. It is based on an original drawing by Cutts, circa 1840, as noted on the backstamp. The design features a lush still life of garden flowers, fruits, and a colorful bird in flight, rendered in the warm polychrome palette typical of mid-century English fine china: deep rose pinks, greens, blues, and golden ochres against a cream ground.

This double-handled cream soup coupe sits on a small footed base with a gently scalloped rim. The handles are accented in green and the interior shows the full Cutts composition — basket of flowers and fruit with bird — while the exterior carries the rose and floral spray.

A beautiful piece for display or for anyone completing or replacing a Hampshire set.
